Our coloproctolgy course in Würzburg is intended to provide an introduction to and update regarding the increasingly complex topic of colorectal surgery. Surgical and diagnostic strategies are becoming more and more sophisticated. For the beginner as well as the advanced colorectal surgeon, our course is a good opportunity to enhance and further develop existing skills and toolsets in this rapidly developing subspecialty of surgery.

For the first time, we are offering a complete course with both diagnostic and therapeutic sections.

In the hands-on diagnostic section you will learn the current standards in colorectal diagnostics from international experts. During our diagnostic sessions you will perform examinations on models and pelvi-trainers.

The surgical section of the course will focus on the different surgical procedures involved. You will be able to perform the crucial steps of each operation on our sophisticated porcine organ-models. With the help and guidance of international experts as tutors, you will be able to improve your surgical skills and learn how to avoid the common pitfalls of colorectal surgery.

During live surgery sessions, operations will be performed by renowned international experts. You will be able to watch these operations from the lecture hall, with our live video stream, so you won’t miss anything. You will even be able to address question to the surgeons or their teams directly in the operating theatre.

Our surgical training course is directed at the beginner as well as the advanced colorectal surgeon. The main focus is on surgical procedures and operative strategies. A key element of this course is the hands-on training, during which you will be able to perform all relevant surgical approaches on dedicated porcine models.

Without profound knowledge of the different diagnostic tools and without deeper understanding of the underlying diseases, correct treatment is unlikely. EBM Lectures

The aim of the EBM lectures held by international specialists is to provide an introduction to and update regarding surgical procedures and strategies in colorectal surgery.

Live-Surgery

Live streams from multiple operation theatres will provide an excellent insight into different surgical procedures. You will be able to ask the surgeon questions at any time during the operation.

Hands-on

Under the guidance of international experts you will be able to train and enhance your surgical skills using INTUS, the Interdisciplinary Training and Simulation Centre (INTUS).

Radiology

Endosonography is a very important tool in colorectal diagnostics. Learn how to perform the examination and how to interpret your findings. Pelvicography is the standard in diagnosing an obstructed defecation syndrome.

Colonoscopy
